What diamond shape should I get on an engagement ring?

What shape diamond should I get? My girlfriend has said that round is boring b/c everyone has it. I was thinking princess but I know that is pretty common as well.

She is a small girl, 5'0 and about 100, so it can't overwhelm her finger. I am planning on a fairly simple platinum ring. She isn't really a fan of elaborate rings or necklaces, she likes it clean and simple. Also, the diamond will likely be 1/2 carat at most.

Thanks!|||Richard i like to suggest you the two most beautiful and romantic diamond cut shapes for your engagement ring.m pretty sure your girlfriend will really love these styles.

1.The Heart Cut

2.The Pear Cut

If you want some more ideas about the shapes of diamond rings you can check these from here|||It depends, you can choose from round, square shape (princess cut), emerald shape (rectangular), oval, pear, heart, marquise shaped diamonds. But what is more important is size of the diamond than the shape of the diamond. 1/2 carat is best for her build, but choosing what will suit her is important in this case. If you are not sure what will suit her, I suggest go for round/square shapes, as these two will suit any body. You can read more about what shape you can choose from the following site|||Have you considered a 3 stone ring? Maybe a simple one like this- http://stores.jewelryninja.com/-strse-35鈥?/a> or you could add a little something interesting to a round stone by getting something like this http://stores.jewelryninja.com/-strse-28鈥?/a>|||Most people get .40ct so 1/2 a carat is very nice. You can always try one of the biggest online retailers like http://www.diamondsonweb.com , they have amazing stuff at great prices.

I also financed my ring so I was able to get something a bit bigger.|||I'd go with a Princess cut. It's classic and you can't go wrong with that. Besides, if my boyfriend proposed to me with a beautiful ring, I highly doubt I'd care what shape the diamond was cut.|||You could get a princess cut but set at an angle, or a pear cut (teardrop), or ive even seen triangle shaped diamonds - that's a bit different! Just bear in mind how it will sit next to a wedding band.|||You can never go wrong with a princess cut!!!|||Best to ask a jeweller for some advice, you are not obligated to buy.
