How often should you clean a diamond ring?

I have a diamond wedding set that I received in April. I clean it about every other day in a solution of diluted ammonia, and dish washing detergent. Does anyone know if this is bad for it? Could it corrode the setting?|||Even the mildest soap inevitably leaves chemicals and residue on surfaces it cleans. Because the refraction of light within the diamond is critical to its inner fire and beauty, even small deposits of soapy residue will dull the stone. Specialized jewelry cleaners and detergents formulated to remove deposits and chemical buildup are the best choices for cleaning diamond engagement rings and other diamond jewelry. http://goldia.com/engagement-rings.html|||A jeweler generally cleans diamond rings with a brass brush, no special cleaning solutions.

Nothing is really going to damage the diamond, fluids may affect the setting but not by much. If in doubt, wander in and ask a jeweler.|||well i have a tarnish remover, and i couldn't find the ingredients, but it say it have thiourea, sulfamic acid and detergent(doesn't say what kind),so if your solution have them, they might be ok.

i don't know how often,though...
