How can i clean a tansinite diamond at home?

so yes, how can i clean a tansinite diamond at home? it is looking rather oily, anyone know?|||I used to work in a jewellers. It is not safe to use a harsh cleaner like ammonia on some stones, it all depends on the hardness and how porous the stone is. The best way to clean Tanzanite is with either a mild washing up liquid diluted in warm water, use an old tooth brush to scrub the stone, rinse and polish with a soft cloth. You can also use carpet cleaner diluted in water, not the type for 3 in one machines which is soap free, just the normal carpet liquid.

You might want to take a look at these pages to learn about Tanzanite.
