How would I go about selling a diamond ring to a jeweler?

I have a diamond wedding ring that I want to sell, I know that I can send it to kay but they will only pay for the gold, it has 8 little diamonds in it too, that I would also like to be paid for. Can I take it to the local kay store and they will buy it? (paying me for the gold AND diamonds?) I know that I will take a big loss on it, and that is fine.. but I'd like to be paid for the diamonds too.

If this can be done, how do I do it?|||I've sold one piece of jewelry before. My best advice is to search for all your local jewelers and pawn shops. Go to each one and ask what they would offer you for your ring. Ebay is also a viable option if you are willing to get your jewelry certified/appraised. You'll make more money selling it to an individual than a jeweler, but it takes more effort.|||1. if you have the original receipt for this pcs is best.

2. i suggest you show different buyers ( jewelers ) this pc and ask them to give u an offer. of course they will pay for the gold and diamonds. it is for sure that you are going to receive different offer. give the one who give u the highest price!

you are welcome to contact me if you have any questions about jewelery. i am a jeweler from china.

good luck!|||I would take it to more than the one place, so you can get valuations from a load of places and make sure you are getting the best deal. Just take it to all of your local jewellers and go with the one that gives you the best price.
