What is the difference between Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl?

I know these games are kind of old, but I am planning on getting one of them for Christmas. What is the difference between Diamond and Pearl? Is it just pokemon? and which ones?|||The only real difference between Diamond and Pearl is the Pokemon that appear. The most obvious is Dialga and Palkia. There are about ten other varying Pokemon that are only in each version but they can be transferred from previous games in the Pokemon series.

I suggest choosing which game you want on if you like Dialga or Palkia better.

If you're not sure which one you like better, I suggest you wait and buy Platinum when it comes out this spring.|||the only difference is a few pokemon that are game exclusive. they're goal was to get people to use the online features of the new games. story wise they are exactly the same.

here are the version exclusives:

Diamond

Seel, Dewgong, Scyther, Murkrow, Scizor, Larvitar, Pupitar, Tyranitar, Poochyena, Mightyena, Aron, Lairon, Aggron, Kecleon, Cranidos, Rampardos, Honchkrow, Stunky, Skuntank, Dialga

Pearl

Slowpoke, Slowbro, Pinsir, Slowking, Misdreavus, Houndour, Houndoom, Stantler, Spheal, Sealeo, Walrein, Bagon, Shelgon, Salamence, Shieldon, Bastiodon, Mismagius, Glameow, Purugly, Palkia|||There are many differences...for example one difference is that some of the sprites are different.....another thing is that the legenderies are different....the final example is that there are some wild pokemon you can catch in pokemon pearl that you can't catch in diamond...

in pearl you can catch purugly and its pre-evolution...while you can't catch murkrow..

Make this number one answer plz!!!!!!!

Tried my best to answer|||There are some differances between the 2 games. well 4 starters here r the pokemon that you can get ONLY in the game the pokemon is listed under:

Pearl

Slowpoke, Slowbro, Pinsir, Slowking, Misdreavus, Houndour, Houndoom, Stantler, Spheal, Sealeo, Walrein, Bagon, Shelgon, Salamence, Shieldon, Bastiodon, Mismagius, Glameow, Purugly, Palkia

And someone told me it's a little bit more different playing wise but it isn't so don't believe them|||In pokemon diamond there are some different pokemon you can get that you cant get in pearl, and the rare pokemon in diamond is Dialga which in my opinion is much stronger then Palkia the rare pokemon in pokemon Pearl.Pearl also has some pokemon that diamond cant get like slowbro for example.|||except the Diamond/Pearl only Pok茅mons there is also a difference in the chance for some pok茅mon to show up. Like on route 210 there is a 20 % chance to meat a Taurus in diamond with the pok茅radar, but 2% chance in pearl. But it麓s the opposite way with a Milktank.|||They just have some different Pokemon that we can in 1 version but not in another. The big difference is that in Pokemon pearl, we can only get Pearl and not Diamond. In Pokemon diamond, we can only get diamond and not pearl.

www.serebii.net %26lt;------ this is a Great site about information of Pokemon.|||with Pokemon pearl you receive the legendary PALKIA while on Pokemon diamond you will receive the legendary DIAGLA .... you may only obtain one of these Pokemon unless you trade. there are many other Pokemon not obtainable in both diamond and pearl .

hope this answers your question...|||the plot and game is basiclly the same except there are a few pokemon only unique to each of the games. and in diamond, you get the lengendary pokemon dialga, who's dragon/metal. in pearl, you get palka, who's dragon/water|||Pearl \ Diamond

palkia \ dialga

glameow \ cranidos

purugly rampardos

shieldon \ murkrow

bastidon \ honchcrow

midreavus \ bonsly-less common

mismagius \ mime junior- more common

bonsly-more common \ stunky

mime junior-less common \skunktank|||There are different pokemon available in each version.. you know, so they addict people so they want to "catch them all" and buy another game, and another console to get them :P its the same story on all pokemon games for portable consoles..|||The only real difference between the versions is a few pokemon you can get in one but not the other. You should check out gamefaqs to see which ones and for an explanation of their stats and powers.|||Link below provides which Pokemon is exclusive to each version. Story wise, both are the same game.|||in pokemon diamond, u get dialga, but in pearl, u get palkia

the only big difference is that the games have a few different pokemon|||They both have a different set of Pokemon that you can find in the wild, but most of them are the same. For a list, go to Serebii.net.|||I think its just the pokemon. Personally though, I think diamond is better.|||the difference between pokemon diamond and pearl are the pokemon|||Its just Pokemon ho cares|||the plots are different.|||i don't really know
