How are diamonds valued? How can you tell how many carats in a diamond by looking at it?

What is it do you look for, to value a diamond? What makes a diamond flawless?

How do you learn to do it?

When a jeweler values a diamond, is it accurate? Is seems such a flawed way of valuing something so expensive.|||cut, carat, color, and clarity. Sizes of diamonds can be deceptive depending on the cut. A marquis always looks bigger than it is. It also can be more expensive since flaws are harder to hide. flaws are dark spots were carbon didn't turn clear. the whiter or clearer a diamond is the more expensive it is. also some areas where diamonds come from will also determine price. A canadian diamond is always going to be more expensive than one from south africa. They tend to have less flaws, are clearer, and go for 10 k a carat. because of how pristine they are.
