My girlfriend is going to use her grandma's ring when we get married (Asking soon), but she doesn't like the band and wants to put her grandma's diamond on to a new band. How difficult is this process and does anyone know if Tiffany's and/or Harry Winston will allow for this?|||anyone will do it. You buy the setting, then you buy the diamond or already have one. Find out the size of the diamond and then start looking at settings. It's easy. My bf is doing the same thing. The jeweler here displays the rings with CZ's in them and then some don't have diamonds in them at all. So this is VERY normal.|||any jeweler will do that. my ring in fact is a new setting my fiance picked out, but his mom donated her engagement stone for me to have. I was very touched by that. the jeweler can take the diamonds out of any setting and put them into another setting that fits the size of those diamonds. you'll save a ton of money buy only buying a setting and not having to buy a diamond!|||Hi there,
The best option for you as a solution to find out jewelry store sells custom wedding rings. You have so many options as a online jewelry store. Make a little bit search what fits to your budget and contact with them, they will be happy to assist you for your request. 14K, 18K and Platinum casting settings might also be offered online.|||They should, but if they don't do this type of work and only sell pieces that are already made up, ask for a reference to a good goldsmith who does this kind of work.|||Most reputable jewelers will reset the stone for you. My SIL did that with her diamond. It was my grandmother's ring but the standard gold setting was not her style so she had it reset in white gold with diamonds.|||take to a jeweler
